School Championships

OUr next School Championships will be held in 2021

The School Championships is a fun annual event held in the Midlands for year 2 children to sixth form pupils. It consists of 5 events that the children can compete in.

It was started in 2018 to encourage more schools to use skipping as a staple activity within their PE and extra curricular sessions.

You can opt for Jump Rope UK coaches to prepare your students for the School Championships on a 6-12 week term. Our coaches will cover all the basics and then move on to preparing them for the competition day.

In 2018 we had 7 schools attend, in 2019 we had 9 schools attend and 2020 was set to our biggest year yet with 15 schools signed up. Unfortunately we were unable to run this due to covid-19, so it will be postponed until 2021.

How to Enter

Download the teachers packet for the rules and events information. Email to enter a school team (this is on a first come first served basis)

We allow 30 pupils per school to enter.

You will be sent the entry forms once you have entered which will need to be filled out and sent back to by the date stated in the teachers packet.

We recommend the children do a minimum of 6 weeks of preparation for the competition.

Preparing for the competition

Jump Rope UK coaches can come into your school and work with the selected children for 6-12 weeks during PE lessons and after school clubs. They will teach the children all of the basics and the competition elements. At the end of the competition, each school will get a chance to perform a 2-5 minute routine, our coaches can also help prepare them for this but we would recommend 12 weeks of preparation for this.
